Flight Education Leadership Team receives College of Engineering 2020 Staff Exemplary Team Performance Award

The College of Engineering 2020 Exemplary Team Performance Award has been presented to The Ohio State University Airport’s Flight Education Leadership Team. The news was announced by the college in an email to staff on August 24 outlining all winners of its 2020 Above and Beyond staff awards.

The Flight Education Leadership Team includes Flight Education Director Brandon Mann, Chief Flight Instructor Candi Roby, Assistant Chief Flight Instructor Joe Schwerdtfeger, Assistant Chief Flight Instructor Josh Maihle, Senior Flight Instructor Kate Savard and Flight Education Coordinator Heather Backus.

According to the college, the Above and Beyond Awards is a mechanism for employees to be recognized for outstanding performance in support of the college’s mission and university core values as they go above and beyond in carrying out their duties.

"The Ohio State University Airport Flight Education Leadership team over the last year has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the College of Engineering by being the glue to hold the program together,” shared Stephanie Morgan, executive director of the Air Transportation and Aerospace Campus.

Their sky-high efforts have “significantly increased flight operations over the past year”.
