Ohio State helps U.S. Army Reserve with parachute drops June 15th

On Saturday, June 15, 2019, from noon to 4:00 p.m., U.S. Army Reserve paratroopers will practice drops at the airport, weather permitting.

Airport and battalion officials have discussed plans to conduct the training drills every other month. Since the operations require complete closure of the airspace, they are scheduled to minimize disruption of normal airport activity. However, everyday civilian jump operators from around the area are not permitted to use the facility for this purpose. Only the military may use the facility with advanced notice.

The public will have the opportunity to view the jumps from the gravel overflow parking lot or the oberservation area on the second floor of the Austin E. Knowlton Executive Terminal and Aviation Learning Center.
