Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT): 2023 Meeting

Runway incursions remain a serious concern nationally. An important component of ongoing efforts to improve surface safety at The Ohio State University Airport involves conducting a Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) annual meeting. In conjunction with airport management, KOSU's Air Traffic Control team will host a local RSAT in-person and virtual meeting March 3, 2023, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Your participation is important, and your input is welcomed. The meeting is open to all aviation personnel who utilize KOSU or have an interest in aviation.

Meeting attendees should RSVP to Air Traffic Manager Samuel Sahlin by emailing samuel.sahlin@midwestatcs.com or calling 614-326-0130, option two. Include the names, organizations, phone numbers and email addresses of those who will be attending. The in-person meeting will be held in Ohio State’s Austin E. Knowlton Executive Terminal & Aviation Learning Center, Room 235. Virtual attendees should request the meeting link when submitting their RSVPs.

The purpose of this RSAT meeting is to unite individuals and organizations that are actively involved in air traffic operations and movement of aircraft, vehicles and equipment on the Airport Operations Area (AOA). Participation from all major airport interests is desired, including from tenants, fixed base operators, airport operations and maintenance personnel. Attendees are asked to help develop recommendations and solutions to enhance surface safety. Those recommendations serve as the foundation for a site-specific Runway Safety Action Plan.
